Job summary

ASR Group's Crockett, California refinery seeks an Advanced or Senior Project Manager to lead engineering projects focused on safety, process improvements, capacity expansion, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee execution, budgets, risks, and cross-functional teams in a demanding industrial environment.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in engineering from ABET, 10+ years in manufacturing/project roles, and strong mastery of MS Project and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; other technical degrees considered with relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing process and/or project-focused roles.
• 7+ years of experience managing CAPEX projects in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies across high-value projects.
• Ability to communicate with multiple levels and represent the company with vendors and partners.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SAP, and similar PM applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and finalize complex projects from initiation to closure.
• Develop project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria with stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, procurement, safety, and operations.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
• Allocate resources to meet timelines and objectives.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental regulations compliance at all stages.
• Act as primary liaison between project team, plant management, and external stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress and finances.
• Offer guidance on technical aspects of projects including process design and equipment selection.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and policies.
• Drive best practices to improve plant performance and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with procurement to secure equipment and services.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans and ramp-up activities.
• Oversee external resources for detailed engineering and construction support.
• Support project delivery including scope control, cost control, schedules, and training.
