Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive Cambridge, Ohio, is seeking a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer to lead capital projects in detergent processing and utilities management. You will drive good engineering practices, develop PFDs/P&IDs, and mentor cross-functional teams.

The role demands 5+ years of engineering experience, multi-disciplinary capabilities, and a focus on safety and EOHS compliance within a manufacturing environment; relocation within the country is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in an environment that encourages employee involvement and high commitment.
• Ability to stimulate others to a high level of performance with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Multi-discipline experience in engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute good engineering protocol for capital implementation, including scope, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs, estimates, timelines, layouts, bids, spending reports, install/start-up.
• Support Continuous Improvement and Business Simplification through evaluation and benchmarking; work with plant teams to improve efficiency and quality control.
• Participate in annual development of local/national Capital Expenditure budgets and presentations.
• Lead facility troubleshooting of process and utility systems, provide design recommendations, downtime analyses, and knowledge transfer.
• Develop process/liquid making equipment standards for purchases and replacement, including selection criteria and safety features.
• Promote Technology Transfer, sharing data and results across the supply chain.
• Utilize statistical tools to evaluate process capability and communicate with key functions.
• Support Supply Chain goals with capital estimates for DIF initiatives.
• Use knowledge management tools to capture learnings and risks.
