Job summary

MLJ Contracting, a premier general contractor in the New York City area, seeks a Project Engineer to plan project work from design to completion, manage schedules, and control costs.

You will collaborate with project managers, supervise sub-contractors, oversee material deliveries, prepare pay estimates, and ensure compliance with NYC DOB health and safety requirements while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
• Strong engineering analysis and drawing interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Managers on deliverables.
• Manage key sub-contractors.
• Oversee material deliveries and ensure quantity/quality per contract.
• Negotiate subcontracts and material contracts.
• Maintain project schedule and milestones.
• Prepare monthly pay estimates and cost accruals.
