Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Pawcatuck, CT is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to own engineering and design content for projects and customer proposals for naval defense systems. You will perform calculations, drawings, process engineering, and ECN changes while liaising with customers to resolve technical issues.

The role requires 5–7 years of mechanical design/analysis experience, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering (master’s preferred), and strong CAD/FEA skills with GD&T proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and design practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform system and component level analysis (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, magnetic).
• Analyze product designs and determine optimum solutions for customer requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations and FEAs, review specifications and ECNs.
• Create and review manufacturing and assembly drawings; support design team.
• Develop relationships with customer technical contacts and manage project interactions.
• Assist in preparing engineering proposals and participate in client meetings.
