Job summary

Haselden Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead project engineering on commercial builds in a dynamic team. You will manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and cost/schedule impacts, working with owners, design teams, and field crews to keep projects on track.

The role emphasizes coordination, QA/QC, and close collaboration with the Superintendent and Project Manager to deliver quality turnover and warranties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering required or preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years in commercial construction or project engineering.
• Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, procurement, and scheduling processes.
• Experience coordinating owners, design teams, and field crews on commercial projects.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft 365 software.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages project engineering functions (RFIs, submittals, procurement).
• Coordinates communication with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
• Leads RFI process to ensure clarity, timing, and schedule alignment.
• Leads submittal process, logs, and follow-up with teams.
• Manages procurement tracking and long-lead items, deliveries.
• Tracks cost and schedule impacts from RFIs, changes, and PM coordination.
• Supports change management with pricing, logs, and CO coordination.
• Coordinates schedule updates with Superintendent and PM.
• Leads or supports project closeout, warranties, and turnover docs.
• Participates in QA/QC, field coordination, and drawings/specs compliance.
• Provides technical support to project leaders and field teams.
• Builds positive relationships with owners, design teams, and subs.
• Mentors and develops Project Engineers and interns.
