Sun Recruiting - The Chemical Specialists is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a chemical manufacturing client in the Starkville area, Mississippi. You will manage a portfolio of capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning and start-up, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and execution meet objectives.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years in project management, plant ops, or process design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of engineering experience with a focus on project management, plant operations, or process design.
• Experience independently managing capital and improvement projects from cradle to grave, including scope, schedule, budget, and execution.
• Projects typically range from $1 million to $15 million with possible larger assignments.
• Hands-on experience with cost estimating, FEED, P&IDs and PFDs, equipment/vendor selection, procurement, construction oversight, commissioning, and startup.
• Strong knowledge of mass and energy balances, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, process modeling, and heat-transfer calculations.
• Strong communication, leadership, and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders; travel to job sites and perform hands-on work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; VBA programming knowledge is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Manage an individual portfolio of capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning and start-up.
• Coordinate scope, schedule, budget, and execution across Operations, Environmental, Transportation, Safety, contractors, and vendors.
• Provide clear project updates, schedules, cost reports, and technical information.
