Job summary

Williams Companies, Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead and support the execution of compressor station and facility projects across the full lifecycle, typically $1M to $50M.

You will guide design reviews and coordinate mechanical, civil, and structural efforts with third‑party firms to ensure safety, compliance, and timely delivery. Responsibilities include shaping delivery strategy, budgets, resource planning, risk mitigation, and procurement support by drafting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; and a minimum eight (8) years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
• Proficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject area
• Preferred: Project Management experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and support project engineering execution for compressor station and facility projects across the full lifecycle
• Coordinate multi-discipline engineering efforts across mechanical, civil, and structural systems; oversee third-party firms for quality and compliance
• Develop delivery strategy, budgets, and resource plans; identify and mitigate engineering risks
• Support procurement by developing material requisitions and ensuring equipment aligns with project requirements
• Execute engineering design across maintenance-related work to asset builds with sound engineering judgment
