Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to design and implement plans that maximize efficiency and reduce costs across our meat production operations. You will lead engineering designs, manage vendor coordination, and ensure projects meet budget and schedule while collaborating with plant teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles for food processing and meat industry preferred.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to operational and design issues.
• Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
• Project management and contract administration experience; multi-million-dollar projects desirable.
• Proficient in engineering economics.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel 50%.

Responsibilities

• Design and project management: develop engineering designs, material specs, and cost estimates; validate field work and create as-built drawings.
• Direct vendors and contractors on layout planning and utility requirements; maintain documentation.
• Prepare proposals, review bids, monitor installations to meet specs, budgets, and timelines.
