Job summary

GAF is seeking a Project Engineer to maintain excellence in developing, executing and controlling assigned projects to meet plant goals. The role requires applying engineering techniques to analyze facility enhancements and optimize production capability while prioritizing safety and cost control.

The successful candidate will lead capital projects, design installations, and provide technical leadership across design, commissioning, and startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) required.
• 5+ years experience, preferably in manufacturing or roofing/building products.
• Must be able to work as a multi‑disciplinary project manager, supervise as a lead engineer, and provide expertise in maintenance, operations, and process management.
• The ideal candidate will have a proven background in managing all project aspects within budget, scope, and downtime constraints.
• Thorough knowledge of computer software and G Suite is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage capital projects across the lifecycle, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Define, design, and manage project installations with detailed scopes and cost justifications.
• Provide technical analyses and drive continuous improvement for processes and equipment.
• Serve as primary technical resource for design, engineering, and startup activities for project and plant initiatives.
• Coordinate internal maintenance and external contractors during project execution and support new product/systems development.
