Job summary

C&S Companies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Tampa office. You will lead electrical design for buildings across healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, and industrial sectors in the Southeast. Expect emphasis on power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of related experience; a PE license is preferred but not required. Occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of related experience in electrical design (power distribution, lighting, low-voltage).
• Professional Engineering license is highly desired but not required.
• Experience leading projects and coordinating with other disciplines; ability to perform electrical calculations and develop design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineer on projects and/or serve as responsible charge of a licensed engineer.
• Perform electrical calculations, edit specifications, and prepare design drawings.
• Develop load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, lighting calculations, and arc flash analysis.
• Develop electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, riser diagrams, and control schematics.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines and support construction phase activities.

Position Overview

The C&S Facilities Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Tampa office. This is a great opportunity for an individual to help grow our facilities practice. This individual will be responsible for leading projects, performing, and managing technical engineering. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for delivery of electrical engineering services in a multitude of markets including healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, food service, hospitality, and industrial projects in the southeastern United States. Successful candidates should have experience and/or education in electrical design for buildings and facilities. This position includes an emphasis on power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems design (Commercial, Food Service, Industrial); previous field experience is a plus.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of related experience including skills in electrical design of power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems
  • A Professional Engineering license is highly desired but not required at this time
• Serves as lead electrical engineer on projects and/or works in the responsible charge of a licensed electrical engineer
• Performs electrical engineering calculations, edits specifications, and prepares design drawings
• Ability to perform load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, lighting calculations, and arc flash analysis
• Familiarity with medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, emergency power systems, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems
• Familiarity with building codes and electrical engineering design requirements including NEC, NFPA, and applicable local codes
• Assists in developing project electrical requirements, conducting field surveys, and developing construction documents
• Develop electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, riser diagrams, and control schematics
• Experience with renovation projects
• Coordinates with other design disciplines in the delivery of electrical designs
• Performs services during construction including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing field observations
• Experience with Revit highly desired
• Beneficial prior project experience on healthcare, higher education, government, aviation, food service, hospitality, and/or industrial projects
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and works well in a team environment
• Occasional travel as a part of project delivery will be required

Estimated Compensation Range: $100,000-150,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
