Job summary

Performance Contracting Group in Memphis, TN is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for its Memphis-142 operations. You will oversee labor control, coordinate with field teams, and ensure schedules and QA/QC requirements are met on complex construction projects.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years of construction project experience, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred, with OSHA certification

• Strong ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
• Prepare RFIs and submittals.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs to verify estimates and order materials.
• Develop and coordinate job schedules with field supervisors.
• Create and manage punch lists and closeout documentation.
• Support QA/QC processes as outlined in the program.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for its Memphis-142 operations based in Memphis, TN.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
• Prepare RFI’s and submittals
• Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders
• Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen
• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation
• Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program
• Assist in other duties as assigned

This position is safety‑sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 4–7 years’ experience managing construction projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
• Possess a clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they’re learned
• Strong customer service skills and relationship‑building abilities
• Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently
• Motivated self‑starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative
• Works well under pressure and deadlines
• Possess critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
• Experience with metal stud framing and drywall, acoustical ceilings, exterior systems and cladding preferred.
• Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
• OSHA certification
• Local to Memphis, TN
• Willing to travel or relocate based on project needs
