Job summary

RecruitPod Global is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead major capital projects at a large-scale, 26 production-line facility in Lewistown, PA. You will plan, engineer, procure, install, startup, and validate manufacturing equipment and processes.

The role requires 8+ years in process manufacturing and a proven track record leading large capital projects, with strong vendor management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Expect high-paced environment and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment.
• 8+ years of experience successfully leading and implementing large capital projects.
• Strong experience with capital equipment procurement and supplier/vendor management.
• Experience with high-speed, high-volume manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of material handling, material flow, and plant layout concepts.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with MS Project and SAP preferred.
• Understanding of cost accounting and project financial management.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement machine, material, and process improvements.
• Ability to develop procedures and train operating personnel.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, continuously operating manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead major capital projects from concept and equipment selection through procurement, installation, startup, and validation.
• Develop technical, commercial, and financial recommendations for equipment and project investments.
• Manage capital equipment procurement and supplier/vendor relationships.
• Coordinate installation activities across engineering, maintenance, production, controls, safety, quality, purchasing, and other functional teams.
• Lead machine and process design improvements to reduce costs, improve quality, increase efficiency, and meet production requirements.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, status reports, and project documentation.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure accountability for project deliverables.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Prepare operating procedures, manuals, and training materials and train production/operating personnel.
• Provide project support in a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable safety requirements and GMP, FDA, and ISO standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support a large-scale, high-speed manufacturing facility in Lewistown, PA.

This position will lead the planning, engineering, procurement, installation, startup, and implementation of major capital projects, primarily focused on manufacturing equipment and process improvements.

The facility operates 26 production lines within a 1.8-million-square-foot operation and includes a 10-story ASRS automated warehouse. Projects can range from approximately $1 million to $25 million+.

The ideal candidate will be a self-directed project engineer who can independently lead complex projects, work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage vendors and suppliers, and deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
