Job summary

Ameresco, Inc. in Portland, Oregon, seeks a Project Development Engineer with expertise in commercial buildings and mechanical systems to join the West Engineering team. The position requires collaborating with engineers to explore opportunities, prepare energy savings analyses, and support design, construction, and commissioning activities across projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, sustainable, or electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of energy efficiency and/or building automation project development experience.
  • Candidates with fewer years may be considered for a lower level position.

Responsibilities

  • Visit customer sites to audit mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems and collect energy data.
  • Identify energy-saving opportunities and assist with energy savings calculations.
  • Support design, construction, and maintenance of ESP projects under energy savings contracts.
  • Prepare design and bid documents, estimates, drawings, and specs for energy-efficient measures.
  • Coordinate with vendors/contractors for feasibility and pricing.
  • Provide technical guidance through development, construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Ensure project implementation meets financial and technical goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across project phases.
  • Perform other duties as required.
