Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced architect to lead design across multiple projects in the United States. The role emphasizes translating client goals into built environment solutions and providing leadership in design excellence within a collaborative, integrated practice.

You will mentor junior staff, work with interior designers and engineers, and guide teams from concept through construction documents, ensuring design intent and sustainability are integrated throughout the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture; accredited program preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of related professional experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with real-time and 3D rendering software (Enscape, Twinmotion, V-Ray).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Some exposure to Grasshopper and Dynamo preferred.
• Architectural Registration in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical knowledge of exterior and interior materials and building assemblies.
• Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines to achieve design intent.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize design solutions with design leaders and teams through all project phases.
• Support senior design leaders, guiding schematic design and design development; coordinate with project architects.
• Prepare client presentation materials and lead design presentations as needed.
• Collaborate with interior designers and typology experts on holistic design from exterior to interior.
• Coordinate with technical leaders and engineers to align design intent across disciplines.
• Integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies, supporting energy modeling teams.
• Apply these approaches to large-scale or multiple projects.
• Mentor emerging professionals to foster collaboration and creativity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
