Job summary

MOSS Building & Design, a premier home remodeling firm in the Northern Virginia area, seeks an experienced Project Designer. The role focuses on translating client vision into cohesive interior designs, managing design and purchasing of cabinetry and selections, and ensuring a smooth journey from concept to completion.

The candidate should have CAD experience (Chief Architect preferred), strong project-management skills, and a passion for transforming living spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in home remodeling design and client-facing projects.
• CAD software experience; Chief Architect preferred.
• Strong project management and coordination abilities.
• Detail-oriented with good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Interior Design or Architecture degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture the vision from sales and homeowner proposals and bring it to life.
• Ensure a positive design experience for homeowners.
• Build trustful relationships with homeowners throughout the project.
• Manage design process from start to finish including cabinets and selections.
• Support sales and construction teams as the design resource.

PROJECT DESIGNER (HOME REMODELING/INTERIOR DESIGN)

Candidates must be local to the Northern VA/Metro DC area. Work schedule includes time in the office, in the field and remote.

Key Qualifications

• A demonstrated passion for home remodeling design
• A record of high performance and professional achievement
• Experience with CAD software needed, Chief Architect preferred
• Strong project management skills
• Strong detail orientation, self-disciplined, creative, and confident, problem solving and job coordination skills, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Interior Design or Architecture degree preferred
• Kitchen and Bath design experience

Key Responsibilities

• Capture the vision outlined by the sales consultant and homeowner in the proposal and bring it to life
• Ensure a positive and exciting design experience for the homeowner
• Build a trust and a positive relationship with the homeowner
• Take the homeowner from the beginning of the project to completion
• Serve as the design resource on the team driving influencing the sales, design, and construction experience
• Manage the design and purchasing of cabinets and all selection items
