Discover your future at Citi
Working at Citi is a career with a global team. This role supports the KYC Modernization initiative, a multi-year, enterprise-wide program to transform global KYC processes by implementing a new core platform (Fenergo). The Senior Data Analyst is a proactive, analytical partner in the Execution Office, providing data-driven insights to accelerate decision-making.
This is not a passive reporting role. You will be the analytical engine of the daily War Room, interrogating delivery data, identifying root causes of delays, and delivering actionable recommendations to enable faster, smarter decisions by the Initiative Manager and senior leadership. You will replace narrative status updates with data-driven insights, transforming Jira and Zephyr data into a clear, predictive tool for managing execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Daily Execution Dashboard: Maintain and enhance the Epic-Driven Daily Execution Dashboard, ensuring data from Jira and Zephyr is accurately reflected and presented for senior executives to facilitate decision making.
- Prepare dashboards for the 3x weekly Execution War Room, highlighting critical blockers, at-risk capabilities, and negative trends before the meeting.
- Automate data pulls and visualizations to minimize manual report creation and maximize time spent on analysis.
- Analyze Delivery Velocity and Predict Bottlenecks: Track sprint-on-sprint performance (story points, defect resolution rates, bug trends) and analyze Epics across the full lifecycle (Dev → SIT → UAT → Done) to identify slowdowns.
- Develop predictive metrics to forecast sprint spillover or milestone delays before they become critical.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis on Blockers and Defects: Use Jira data to identify dependencies and owners of blocking tasks, assess aging, and analyze defect trends to reveal systemic quality issues.
- Provide actionable recommendations to the Initiative Manager (e.g., allocate resources to unblock dependent stories).
- Support Jira Data Hygiene and Structure: Collaborate with Tech Leads and POD owners to maintain high-quality Jira plans, with clear dependencies, defined critical paths, and accurate capability prioritization. Ensure test cases in Zephyr are linked to Epics for end-to-end traceability. Serve as SME for JQL to power dashboards and reports.
- Support Executive Reporting: Provide quantitative data and insights for monthly Steering Committee briefings and other senior leadership updates. Translate metrics into clear, concise visuals for an executive audience.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- Experience: 6-10 years in data analysis, project management, or PMO on a large-scale technology transformation program.
- Jira Expertise (Non-Negotiable): Expert-level proficiency with Jira, including dashboards, advanced JQL, and structuring Epics/stories/dependencies. Experience with Jira macros in Confluence is a plus.
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Ability to analyze complex datasets and present findings clearly. Experience with Excel, Tableau, or Power BI is desirable.
- Agile/Scrum Knowledge: Understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts, including story points, velocity, and sprint ceremonies.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Proactive in understanding the "why" behind numbers and recommending concrete actions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for non-technical, executive audiences.
- Experience with Testing Tools (Preferred): Familiarity with Zephyr and linking test status to development work items; AI experience is a plus.
