Job summary

Guidehouse seeks an IT Project Manager to drive PMO operations for federal partner programs. You will manage resources, track budgets, prepare reports, and maintain critical documentation to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Strong Excel skills and experience with risk/issue tracking are required.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Strategy, Contracts, Development and Partner Services, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and policy requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of project coordination, project management support, client support, or related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
  • Experience supporting project documentation, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including burn reports and tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience creating or maintaining standard operating procedures and other process documentation.
  • Experience with risk and issue tracking and mitigation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project resources/direct reports and subcontractors and monitor work allocation.
  • Approve timesheets and support performance and professional development.
  • Coordinate PMO activities and project operations related to federal mission objectives.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders and internal teams on project delivery and status reporting.
  • Create and maintain project documents including proposals, cost estimates, burn reports, and SOPs.
  • Onboard new resources and coordinate team activities across stakeholders.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports and track actions, risks, and issues.
  • Support executive/client reporting with clear communications.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Strategy, Contracts, Development, and Partner Services.
  • Promote collaboration and process consistency across PMO activities.

Job Family: IT Project Management

What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project resources/direct reports and subcontractors, including work allocation monitoring of activities
  • timesheet approvals, performance support, professional development, resource activation, and timely completion of commitments
  • Support PMO leadership in coordinating activities and project operations directly related to the execution of Federal Partner agency mission objectives
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders and internal teams to support project delivery, issue tracking, and status reporting
  • Create, maintain, and review project documentation, including proposals, cost estimates, burn reports, statements of work, and standard operating procedures
  • Assist with onboarding new resources and coordinating team activities across internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports, monitor project activities, and help track action items, risks, and issues
  • Support executive and client-facing reporting by consolidating updates and preparing clear, accurate communications
  • Coordinate across Operations, Strategy, Contracts, Development, and Partner Services teams to support project needs
  • Promote collaboration, organization, and process consistency across PMO activities
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, ensuring the team stays agile and responsive
  • Support the development and implementation of project management best practices and tools within the PMO
  • Manage and track project deadlines to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables
  • Support additional PMO-related activities as assigned
  • Create, manage, and review project documentation, including proposals, cost estimates, burn reports, statements of work, standard operating procedures, status reports, meeting materials, and executive briefings
  • Oversee project financial and operational performance by monitoring funding, labor, burn rates, forecasts, charge codes, invoices, timesheets, and resource data; identify and resolve discrepancies
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree OR Additional FIVE (5) years of equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum FIVE (5) years of project coordination, project management support, client support, or related experience
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
  • Experience supporting project documentation, reporting, and operational processes
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including experience developing or maintaining burn reports and tracking tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, track, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience creating or maintaining standard operating procedures and other process documentation
  • Ability to support risk and issue tracking and follow established mitigation procedures
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong skills in Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint
  • Strong interpersonal and customer support skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of federal grants management processes
  • Experience working with federal clients, programs, or government-facing environments
  • Experience supporting PMO functions in a consulting, federal, or mission-driven environment
  • Experience with enterprise software platform tools, such as Jira or Salesforce

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
