Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting for DoD R&D programs, including C-UxS projects at NSWC Crane. You will develop schedules, monitor progress, analyze costs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in project controls, MS Projects/JIRA experience, and an active Secret clearance. This on-site position offers a competitive compensation package and broad benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent work experience.
• Four plus years of experience in project controls, project management, or similar roles.
• One year experience with daily use of MS Projects or similar software.
• One year experience with JIRA or similar software.
• Experience tracking program metrics, milestone schedules, and deliverable status for DoD R&D programs.
• Proficiency with EVMS-aligned project tracking tools and reporting.
• Ability to prepare monthly status review packages and performance dashboards for Government review.
• Proficiency in project scheduling and management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar software).
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and forecasting principles.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with risk management and change management methodologies.
• Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Track project progress and performance using KPIs to ensure alignment with goals.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute project reports, including financial health, variances, and forecasts to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.
• Maintain and update project documentation, schedules, and databases to ensure accurate data for decision-making.
• Support change management processes and assess potential impacts of changes on scope, schedule, and costs.
• Review and analyze contractor/supplier schedules, cost reports, and invoices to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Act as a liaison between stakeholders to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and ensure project alignment.
