Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support DoD R&D programs at NSWC Crane, coordinating schedules, budgets, and reporting to keep programs on track and within scope.

You will develop schedules, monitor performance with KPIs, analyze variances, and prepare monthly status packages for government review, using MS Project or Primavera P6, with an active Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Four plus years of experience in project controls, project management, or similar roles.
  • Experience tracking program metrics, milestone schedules, and deliverable status for DoD R&D programs.
  • Proficiency with EVMS-aligned project tracking tools and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare monthly status review packages and performance dashboards for Government review.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar software).
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and forecasting principles.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with risk management and change management methodologies.
  • Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

In this role, you will ensure that projects are executed on schedule, within scope, and within established budgets while identifying and mitigating risks. The Project Controls Specialist will support research and development efforts for Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UxS) programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficiency with EVMS-aligned project tracking tools and reporting.

  • Familiarity with C-UxS or layered sensor/defeat systems, and requirements development.

  • Certification in project management or controls (e.g., PMP, CAPM, CCP).

  • Advanced skills in financial modeling or data analytics.

  • Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Compensation Details:

$80,000 - $130,000

The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
