Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Senior Project Controls professional for Richmond/Goochland, VA to support our Program Management Team. You will lead forecasting, cost engineering, reporting, and subcontractor invoicing for large capital projects.

You will collaborate across disciplines, manage budgets, schedules, and vendor agreements, and drive financial performance for EPCM initiatives. A strong background in project controls, Power BI, and enterprise systems is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related discipline; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of experience supporting large capital projects in construction management, site logistics, project controls, operations, or project management
  • Experience managing CM service budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and project financial performance
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, invoicing and financial reporting knowledge
  • Experience managing subcontractors, purchase orders and pass-through costs
  • Experience reviewing project expenses and ensuring policy compliance
  • Understanding of construction site operations, logistics, and support services for large-scale projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiar with Oracle, SAP, EcoSys, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and stakeholder mgmt
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 10+ years of experience supporting large capital projects in construction management, site logistics, project controls, operations, or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Construction Management (CM) service budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and project financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, purchase orders, service agreements, and pass-through costs associated with project execution.
  • Experience reviewing and approving project-related expenses and ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements.
  • Strong understanding of construction site operations, logistics planning, and support services required for large-scale project execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with enterprise systems such as Oracle, SAP, EcoSys, Power BI, or other project controls and financial management platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting fast-paced project environments with minimal supervision.
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have
  • Experience supporting EPCM or EPC projects exceeding $500M in total installed cost.
  • Experience leading site logistics, construction support services, or field operations for major industrial, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, or energy projects.
  • Knowledge of project delivery systems, project controls processes, and financial management practices.
  • Familiarity with General Conditions management, field cost control, and construction indirect cost forecasting.
  • PMP, CCM, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience mentoring and developing project controls, logistics, or site operations personnel.
  • Advanced Power BI reporting and data analytics experience.

The base salary range for this position is $123,600.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
