Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a seasoned Project Controls professional in the Raleigh area to support the Program Management Team. You will lead cost engineering, forecasting, reporting, and subcontractor invoicing on complex projects.

The role requires 7+ years in cost/control roles, strong leadership, and expertise with EcoSys, Primavera Unifier, and related tools. Onsite role with comprehensive benefits and competitive base salary.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in cost engineering, project controls, or related field.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Strong analytical skills for cost performance and trends.
  • Excellent presentation skills to engage leadership teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with advanced formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience with project controls and cost software (EcoSys, Primavera Unifier, SAP/Oracle).
  • Ability to perform cost forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance reporting.

  • Prepare cost reports for engineering, construction or capital projects.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports for engineering, construction, or capital projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate cost performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation skills with a proven ability to effectively engage leadership teams, facilitate discussions, and communicate key messages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with project controls and cost management software such as EcoSys, Primavera Unifier, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Ability to perform cost forecasting, estimate reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and variance reporting.
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Finance, or other business management related degree
  • Experience supporting EPCM, industrial, life sciences, infrastructure, advanced facilities, or energy projects.
  • Experience with Primavera Unifier, EcoSys IPCS, and Polaris, plus other proprietary system tools
  • Familiarity with change management, risk management, and contingency tracking processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative project team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
