Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a driven Project Controls professional in the Raleigh area to support our Program Management Team. You’ll have the chance to work on this team providing solid forecasting, cost engineering, reporting and subcontractor invoicing.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, project management, or related field.
  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting for engineering or capital projects.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate cost performance and identify trends.
  • Excellent presentation skills to engage leadership and communicate key messages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with advanced formulas and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solid forecasting and cost engineering for programs.
  • Prepare cost reports and track subcontractor invoicing.
  • Support program management team with financial insights and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to optimize cost performance.

Here's what you'll need
  • 7+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, project management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports for engineering, construction, or capital projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate cost performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation skills with a proven ability to effectively engage leadership teams, facilitate discussions, and communicate key messages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with project controls and cost management software such as EcoSys, Primavera Unifier, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Ability to perform cost forecasting, estimate reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and variance reporting.
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Finance, or other business management related degree
  • Experience supporting EPCM, industrial, life sciences, infrastructure, advanced facilities, or energy projects.
  • Experience with Primavera Unifier, EcoSys IPCS, and Polaris, plus other proprietary system tools
  • Familiarity with change management, risk management, and contingency tracking processes.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative project team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full‑time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
