Job summary

Middough Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to plan, schedule, cost engineer, and analyze earned value on complex projects.

You will generate performance status and management reports, identifying variances and proposing mitigations throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include guiding schedule reviews with engineers and stakeholders, refining estimates into P6 Level 4 schedules, and leading WBS development with resource loading.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or business required.
• 8-10 years of experience in planning and sequencing of engineering, procurement and/or construction activities.
• Hands-on project controls experience on engineering and/or construction projects required.
• Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 (highly preferred) and/or MS Project required.
• Knowledge of cost engineering concepts related to budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), VBA (highly preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective, timely, and professional communication with project teams.
• Ability to solve problems and use data analysis to make decisions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate schedule progress reviews with engineering teams and input from clients, vendors and construction contractors.
• Collaborate with lead Engineers and Project Managers to refine service and labor estimates into detailed P6 Level 4 execution schedules.
• Utilize an earned value management (EVM) suite to track progress and issue reports.
• Facilitate dynamic in-person schedule planning workshops using interactive tools and forward/backward pass methods.
• Lead creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and development of schedules and budget data with resource loading.
• Analyze unit rates and performance metrics to provide guidance on performance to-date and estimate to completion.
• Compile schedule and cost data into the project control database and interpret outputs for decision making.
• Advise management of risks affecting project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations; support change management processes.
