Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the United States. You will develop complex schedule and cost baselines, collect monthly data, identify variances, and assist in root cause analysis while maintaining risk reserves and reporting to stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience, strong budgeting/scheduling skills, and proficiency in Primavera P6 with expertise in Earned Value Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience in related field.
• 5 years of related project controls experience required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop time‑phased project cost and resource forecasts; validate project costs; update requirements as needed.
• Monitor progress of project deliverables and actual expenditures versus forecasts.
• Perform Earned Value Management and prepare routine financial reports.
• Support internal controls, forecasting techniques and risk analysis.
• Communicate cost status and trends to project managers and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and supervise where appropriate.
