Job summary

Redwood Materials in Sparks, NV seeks a Lead Project Controls Specialist to own cost and schedule baselines, KPI tracking, and EVMS across EPC capital projects. You will mentor schedulers, interface with EPC contractors and Finance, and drive standards for cost control, budgeting, forecasting, change management, and risk analysis.

The role requires developing WBS/CBS/OBS, managing control accounts, and delivering executive dashboards and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 8+ years in project controls on construction, EPC, or large-scale industrial capital projects, including lead or senior role.
• Experience in cost control, budget tracking, and forecasting on projects with significant capital value.
• Proven experience developing project KPIs and building performance reports for executive audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6; experience with cost management systems and reporting tools.
• Experience with change management, risk analysis, and contingency planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project controls function for assigned capital projects, establishing standards, procedures, and reporting cadence.
• Develop, baseline, and maintain WBS, CBS, and OBS to map scope, schedule, estimates, and costs.
• Develop and maintain the KPI set, including CPI, SPI, and milestone adherence, with ongoing tracking.
• Own earned value management: establish control accounts, measure progress, and analyze BCWS/BCWP/ACWP.
• Govern WBS and coding structures, align with ERP/cost codes and estimate structures.
• Direct cost control activities: budgeting, commitments, expenditures, accruals, and cash flow projections.
• Build and maintain the project budget and produce variance analyses.
• Manage change control: evaluate trends, change orders, and revisions for cost/schedule impact.
• Develop and maintain cost-loaded/resource-loaded schedules in Primavera P6 with CPM analysis.
• Produce weekly/monthly performance reports and executive dashboards.
• Perform quantitative risk analysis and contingency tracking.
• Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Estimating, and Construction Management.
• Improve tools, templates, data structures, and reporting automation.
• Mentor planners, schedulers, and cost analysts.
• Support project close-out and capture lessons learned.
