Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a Project Controller to oversee project-level cost management for a Bakersfield, CA project.

You will coordinate budgeting, invoicing, change orders, vendor payments, and cash flow with the on-site team to keep financials accurate and timely. Ideal candidates have significant experience in electrical construction project controls, strong knowledge of JDEdwards and PowerBI, and a proven ability to deliver monthly financial reviews and risk assessments for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field.
7+ years of progressively responsible directly related work experience including managing and leading programs, work units, or departments of comparable size, scope, and complexity.
Strong knowledge of project controls – cost codes, subcontractor management, earned value management, forecasting.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with billing to ensure invoice accuracy and proper documents.
Maintain project budgets and ensure correct cost coding in JDEdwards.
Manage change orders and audit logs; template creation.
Review subcontractor invoices and lien waivers for contract compliance.
Provide weekly financial reports and support monthly project financial reviews.
Develop cash flow analyses and communicate financial guidance to the project team.
Ensure correct sales tax handling and material cost tracking.
Track equipment rental costs and financial impact for the project.
