PCI Federal in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Project Control Accountant to support the Corporate Accounting Team. This on-site role will manage project cost baselines, budgets, actuals, and forecasts, working closely with finance and operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project accounting experience with government contracts, proficiency in Deltek Costpoint, and strong MS Office skills. Demonstrated attention to detail and clear communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
• 5+ years of project accounting support for government contracts.
• Deltek Costpoint Project Module proficiency.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with MS SharePoint team sites.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Background check and education verification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up projects in CostPoint (awards, modifications).
• Develop cost/schedule baselines and budgets.
• Monitor actuals and resolve issues.
• Track commitments and subcontracts.
• Produce monthly forecasts and EACs; analyze variances.
• Monitor burn rate and remaining funding.
• Process at-risk forms for projects.
• Analyze project reports to identify issues.
• Perform monthly unbilled analysis.
• Report project status to management monthly.
• Assist Month End Close with project data.
• Identify and analyze project risk.
• Review contract uplift (COLA, Danger Pay).
• Support internal/external project reviews.
• Assist in contract closeouts.
