Job summary

WSP seeks a Project Contract Manager to oversee commercial and controls activities on energy production and transmission infrastructure projects. You’ll lead pricing, risk management, and contract change efforts across pre-award, award, and construction phases, coordinating with legal, finance, and project teams.

You will develop budgets, proposals, and SOWs, negotiate prime orders, and ensure contract compliance and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, legal studies or business management or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting major infrastructure capital projects, including long lead procurement.
  • Expertise in construction contract change management, claims analysis, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong background in project controls, cost forecasting, schedule analysis, and risk management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience controlling project costs and risk exposure.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual information.
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial and project controls oversight on complex infrastructure projects from start-up through closeout and dispute resolution.
  • Support project managers in pricing development and risk management, avoiding scope creep.
  • Proactive project and contract change and claims management and resolution.
  • Engage and advise WSP legal counsel as required.
  • Provide input on project team staffing and align with client control standards.
  • Develop SOW proposals and support subcontract development.
  • Lead negotiation for prime task orders and amendments.
  • Interpret client contracts to identify major requirements and flow downs.
  • Manage contract workflow and collaborate with program leaders for efficient execution.
  • Develop budget proposals with Project Accounting and task leads.
  • Contribute to project kick-off meetings, both technically and commercially.
  • Maintain audit files for each contract with all related documents.
  • Develop and monitor WSP commercial metrics (earned value, cost tracking, schedule, cash flow, etc.).
  • Maintain relationships with project accountants and control teams for support.
