Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Experienced Project Buyer to support large-scale construction projects. You will source materials, equipment, and services, negotiate terms, and manage purchase orders to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.

You will collaborate with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders, build strong supplier relationships, and monitor procurement from order placement through delivery. This role is based in Minneapolis, MN, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• 4+ years of procurement, purchasing, or project buying experience.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, sourcing, negotiations, and contract administration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services for complex construction projects.
• Partner with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders for quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders and agreements.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery with suppliers.
• Monitor procurement activities from order to delivery and resolve issues.
• Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
• Lead procurement meetings with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide procurement insights to project management teams.
• Track project purchasing activities and communicate updates.
• Visit project sites periodically to strengthen relationships and understand field operations.
