Job summary

DuPont is seeking a Senior Project Buyer to lead procurement for capital and operating projects across the company. You will be the main procurement contact for capital and site teams and guide other project buyers, shaping sourcing strategy from the start to influence project cost, schedule and success.

This role requires strong RFx leadership, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Legal, Finance and Operations to deliver measurable value while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement experience.
• CPSM and/or PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and carry out sourcing strategies that fit each project's scope, schedule and budget.
• Get involved early in the project lifecycle to shape procurement and contracting decisions.
• Run the full sourcing process for major packages: RFI/RFP/RFQ, technical and commercial bid evaluation, and award.
• Structure and negotiate complex contracts (lump-sum, reimbursable, unit-rate and hybrid), balancing risk and value.
• Design contracting strategies that fit each project's risk profile and current market conditions.
• Negotiate pricing, payment milestones, warranties, liquidated damages, retention and performance guarantees.
• Drive cost savings, cost avoidance and value engineering without compromising safety, quality or schedule.
• Manage currency, escalation and commodity-linked pricing on long-duration contracts.
• With the commodity buy team, qualify, evaluate and manage OEMs, fabricators, EPC contractors and engineering firms.
• Manage supplier performance through expediting, inspection and progress monitoring until delivery.
• Find and reduce schedule, quality, financial and single-source risks on the critical path.
• Ensure compliance with capital approval (AFE) processes, delegation of authority, safety rules and regulatory standards.
• Work with Engineering, Business, Legal, Finance and Operations to keep procurement in step with project milestones.
• Prepare executive-ready updates on capital commitments, savings, cash flow and procurement risk using Power BI and Excel.
• Support project audits, cost forecasting and closeout.
