Job summary

Epstein Joslin + Picardy Architects in Somerville, MA seeks a highly motivated Architect with 5–10 years of professional experience to join our team full-time. You will contribute across all project phases, from concept design through construction documents, with emphasis on coordination and client communication.

You should be proficient in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape and the Adobe Creative Suite, and bring strong design, rendering, and presentation skills. Authorized to work in the U.S. preferred.

Job description

Epstein Joslin + Picardy Architects is an award-winning architecture firm based in Union Square, Somerville, MA. We specialize in cultural, performing arts, educational, and select residential clients.

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Architect with 5 to 10 years of professional experience to join our team full-time.

Our firm offers the opportunity to work on unique project types within a close-knit, collaborative environment. As a modest-sized practice, we provide team members with direct involvement and engagement in all phases of design and construction.

Applicants must have strong design, rendering, and presentation skills and proficiency in Revit, Adobe Suite, and Enscape. A technical knowledge of construction detailing and construction document organization. Experience in construction administration and observation is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates who have played a central role in the design and construction of an institutional project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Architectural Designs: Work with firm leadership to develop innovative, functional architectural designs that respond to client needs and comply with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Revit Modeling: Create and maintain detailed Revit models, including drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details that accurately reflect project design and documentation standards.
  • Technical Detailing: Apply a solid understanding of materials and construction methods to architectural detailing.
  • Consultant Coordination: Coordinate consultant scopes, ensuring integration of building systems and resolving design-related issues.
  • Visualization & Presentation: Produce compelling design presentations and high-quality renderings using Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and other tools to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and project teams.
Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited university (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • 5-10 years of professional experience, including involvement in all phases of design, technical details and construction.
  • Experience with cultural, theater, or performing arts projects is strongly preferred but not required
  • Strong and thoughtful design capabilities with skillful presentation abilities
  • Proficient in Revitis required; experience with Sketchup and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design)
  • Skilled in architectural visualization and rendering techniques
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to time management and meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a positive, team-oriented mindset
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
