Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a high-level Project Architect to lead the development of technical content for large, complex projects and coordinate cross-disciplinary work to ensure integrated deliverables. You will verify compliance through team collaboration and guide production through all design phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture required.
• 10+ years of related professional experience, including 5+ years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional/commercial projects.
• At least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional/commercial projects.
• Current Architectural Registration in the United States required.
• CDT and LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
• Strong client leadership and technical leadership for production teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams through all technical and production aspects from pre-design through project completion.
• Engage with Office or Project Quality Leader for project support.
• Develop all technical aspects and content of the work and translate them into instruments of service.
• Establish and maintain realistic work and labor plans and schedules with Project Manager.
• Identify, communicate, mitigate, and resolve project-related issues through risk assessment.
• Mentor Project Architects in developing Project Quality Plans and milestone reviews.
• Oversee documentation strategy for phase drawings and deliverables.
• Ensure alignment of design with client goals, budget, and schedule.
• Translate design intent through technical documentation to construction completion.
• Integrate building performance and sustainable design goals into a holistic solution.
• Monitor project documentation and compliance with obligations.
• Lead Life Safety, Building and Energy Code analyses and compliance.
• Coordinate with all disciplines and monitor model quality with the Model Manager.
• Coordinate contract documentation with the Project Specification Writer.
