Job summary

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is seeking a Project Architect for our Birmingham, AL office. You’ll oversee projects from concept through completion, mentor junior staff, coordinate with consultants, and ensure quality design and documentation.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture, 10+ years of post‑graduation experience, and a Licensed Architect certification; proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office is required; travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of relevant experience post-graduation, preferred.
• Certification as a licensed professional is required.
• Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate full competency in all aspects of architecture.
• Provide professional architectural consultation in planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
• Lead or manage lower-level staff on technical work.
• Review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
• Coordinate with Department Head on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
• QA/QC.
