Job description

M Moser Associates New York is hiring a Senior Project Architect / Senior Architectural Designer who specializes in workplace interior projects.

Position Overview

M Moser Associates New York is hiring a Senior Project Architect / Senior Architectural Designer who specializes in workplace interior projects.

At M Moser Associates, the Senior Project Architect — Corporate Interiors captains the job as early as the client interview, working closely with designers throughout test fit, schematic, design development, and construction administration to ensure design integrity is maintained at every stage. This is a pivotal role for the successful integration of highly technical design work . You are the person who holds the big picture and the fine detail at the same time, who thinks about constructability while the design is still moving, and who makes sure that what gets built is exactly what was intended.

As the project moves into Construction Administration, your role ramps up. You are responsible for bringing together multiple disciplines — MEP, structural, specialty consultants, and internal teams — ensuring their work is fully integrated and coordinated against the design intent. Quality control is central: you are the person who makes sure the design is buildable, the documents are airtight, and the project meets program, code, and agency compliance requirements.

Why This One Is Different

At M Moser, the architectural lead and the design lead work as one team — not in sequence, not across a handoff, but together from the first client conversation. The Senior Project Architect works shoulder to shoulder with workplace designers and strategists throughout every phase, which means buildability informs the design while the design is still alive, so design intent survives construction.

You own the full arc of the project — design development through construction administration — on workplace projects for some of the world's most recognizable companies. M Moser has been doing this since 1981 and the people who thrive here are the ones who want real ownership, who take pride in the details, and who want to work somewhere that takes the work as seriously as they do. Working for M Moser means working alongside a humble yet high-caliber team that is genuinely collaborative and supportive. M Moser invests in its people, promotes from within, and builds careers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work in tandem with project leadership to create and communicate clear and attainable project criteria and objectives
  • Partner with leadership during project pursuits and client pitches, contributing technical due diligence including site assessment, base building review, and knowledge of comparable construction to inform scope, feasibility, and approach
  • Lead a team of architects and interior designers to develop client solutions and solve complex problems
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to share design and construction expertise in order to create inventive, well‑crafted environments
  • Ensure projects conform to program and contract requirements
  • Brainstorm with in‑house strategic planners to consider new solutions that address cultural opportunities in each project
  • Translate programmatic opportunities into unique concepts for architecture and interior design
  • Assist in preparation of project proposals, schedules, contracts, fees, and work authorizations
  • Mentor and coach junior designers for enhanced teamwork and skill‑building
Who We Are Looking For

The successful Senior Project Architect is someone who loves a challenge, has a healthy competitive spirt and who thrives in a team environment. You are collaborative and open‑minded, yet have a keen eye for the detail. You are organized in your thinking and can dig into a problem and find solutions. You work well under pressure and inspire others to do so too. You are motivated by opportunity and growth, driven to be part of an energetic, creative and dynamic company that is making things happen around the world!

Qualifications & Key Competencies
  • 5–10 years+ of experience as a Project Architect, Technical Designer, or Job Captain in an interior design or architecture firm
  • Experience working on medium to large workplace projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
  • Licensed Architect preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle — pre‑lease through post‑occupancy
  • In‑depth knowledge of NYC building codes, ADA requirements, and building systems
  • Open to innovation and continuously evolving practice — comfortable leveraging new tools, platforms, and technology including AI to elevate the quality and efficiency of project delivery
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exemplary people skills — able to lead and collaborate across disciplines
  • Proven fiscal accountability
  • LEED AP / LEED GA preferred
