Job description

Martinkovic Milford Architects (MMA) is a San Francisco-based firm with a reputation for doing exceptional work for exceptionally demanding clients — Salesforce, Sutter Health, One Medical, and URW Concessions at JFK among them. We specialize in high-end restaurant and commercial interior projects that require meticulous design, complex coordination, and seamless execution. If you've spent your career building toward a role where your craft and leadership are equally valued, this is it.

This is not a role for someone looking to coast. It's a role for someone who wants to lead meaningful projects, build a team around them, and leave a mark on San Francisco's most interesting interiors.

What You'll Own
  • Autonomous leadership of multiple high-end restaurant and commercial interior projects simultaneously — design through CA
  • Primary client relationship ownership: building the long-term trust that turns one project into a decade of work
  • Mentoring 2-3 junior staff members; meeting regularly, setting goals, and actively investing in their growth
  • Quality control across design and production documents — holding the bar for the entire project team
  • Advancing MMA's already-strong firm standards: contributing your experience to how the firm operates, not just what it produces
What You Bring
  • 15+ years of architectural experience, including 10+ years in restaurant and commercial interiors — you know this sector deeply
  • B.Arch or M.Arch from an NAAB-accredited school; licensed architect
  • A natural leadership style: clear communicator, proactive manager, someone who keeps things moving when the project gets complicated
  • The kind of quiet confidence that earns respect without demanding it
What MMA Offers
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with your experience and the San Francisco market
  • 401(k) with company contribution + comprehensive health benefits
  • Professional training stipend, technology stipend, and ARE test reimbursement
  • A culture built around investing in people — private coaching, small group training, mentorship programs
  • Meaningful work on projects that challenge you, clients who appreciate it, and a team that has your back

"MMA is our first call for challenging projects. No matter what we ask, they always deliver in superior fashion." — Gordon L'Estrange, VP Global Real Estate, Salesforce

U.S.-based candidates only. MMA is an equal opportunity employer
