Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Job Captain to join our team in a hybrid role based in Fort Washington, PA.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in residential home-building, particularly with wood-framed construction, supported by production-focused architectural experience and excellent documentation skills.

This role involves managing internal and external project teams, coordinating multiple projects, and supporting design and operational phases to ensure successful project delivery.

The candidate will work closely with cross-disciplinary teams, contributing to design evaluations, quality control, and process improvements, while also providing insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate regularly with teams across design, engineering, and operational groups.
  • Lead and manage multiple project teams and external consultants.
  • Support the design team in developing and assessing new design options, styles, and architectural details.
  • Assist during the discovery and design phases of technology projects.
  • Foster team engagement by sharing experiences, challenges, and best practices.
  • Identify process improvements by asking thoughtful questions and offering recommendations.
  • Project Management & Quality Control
  • Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and adhering to quality standards.
  • Manage diverse project types, including new construction documentation, lot-specific designs, and design revisions.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, interpreting and applying relevant codes and regulations.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret project information to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout each project lifecycle.
  • Maintain consistent documentation, workflow standards, and data management.
  • Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making.

  • Support senior leadership with limited business insights and project-related analyses.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and governance of project standards and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent vocational/technical certification.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in project management and/or people management.
  • Strong knowledge of the architectural and construction industries.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, teams, and external consultants.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Experience in residential construction or homebuilding industries.
  • Familiarity with SketchUp and BIM 360.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, and geographically dispersed groups.
