Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Group in Seattle seeks a Senior Project Accountant to support project managers and principals by delivering financial insights, managing costs, and driving informed decisions for a 150+ person engineering group.

The role involves budgeting, invoicing, and collaboration with three project cost accountants across multiple offices, with hybrid remote work options and growth into leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years cost accounting experience in a professional office environment.
• Proficient in MS Office programs including Excel and Power BI.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in A/E/C industry is a plus but not required.
• BST11 software experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain all projects and expenses in BST11, updating contracts, budgets and tasks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers for project setup, budget tracking, and invoicing.
• Prepare and process monthly client billings, coordinating invoicing.
• Maintain and document monthly accounting workflow processes.
• Prepare end-of-month and end-of-year reports and revenue statements.
• Assist Managing Principal with overall reporting center budget tracking.
• Run A/R inquiries to monitor collections.
• Provide project managers with financial information as requested.
• Coordinate with corporate accounting to meet deadlines.
• Introduce continuous improvement ideas to accounting processes.
• Coordinate with three project cost accountants, including two who lead billing for other offices.
