Job summary

KPFF’s Special Projects Group in Seattle is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to support a 150+ person engineering team. You will deliver precise financial insights, manage project costs, and drive informed decisions as prime consultant work includes tracking subconsultant contracts and invoicing.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of cost accounting experience, a BA in accounting/finance/economics (AA acceptable), and proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and BST11.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years cost accounting in a professional office environment.
• BA degree in accounting, finance or economics preferred (AA degree with similar focus minimum).
• Proficient in MS Office programs: Excel and Power BI; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
• Desire to learn and work independently or collaboratively in a decentralized, fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills; mentorship abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in A/E/C industry is desired but not required.
• Prior BST11 software experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain all projects and expenses in project cost accounting system (BST11), including budgets and tasks.
• Collaborate with Project Managers for setup, budgeting, tracking, invoicing and client billings.
• Prepare and process monthly client billings; oversee invoicing by other Project Cost Accountants.
• Improve and document monthly accounting workflows and processes.
• Prepare end-of-month and end-of-year reports for multiple discipline groups.
• Assist in setting and tracking overall reporting center budget with leadership.
• Run AR inquiries to monitor collections and cash flow.
• Provide project financial information to Project Managers as needed.
• Coordinate with corporate accounting to meet deadlines.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in accounting processes.
• Collaborate with three experienced project cost accountants across offices.
