Job summary

Parametrix in Puyallup, WA is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Finance team. You will oversee project accounting activities, including setup, budgeting, billing, reporting, and accounts receivable, partnering with project managers to ensure financial success.

You will play a key role in providing financial guidance, monitoring performance, and supporting sound business decisions across project teams. This hybrid role requires two days per week in the Puyallup office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting experience in the AEC industry.
• Experience with project setup, budgeting, billing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of project-based accounting principles, controls, and revenue recognition.
• Experience reviewing project financial performance, analyzing budget variances, and communicating financial information to project managers.
• Proficiency with BST or similar ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Review, establish, and approve new projects in BST with accurate budgets and billing terms.
• Serve as a financial checkpoint in project approvals and controls.
• Prepare, review, and analyze project financial reports; monitor budgets and variances.
• Manage project billing activities, ensuring invoices are accurate and timely.
• Monitor accounts receivable and support collections.
• Establish and maintain project budgets; assist with forecasting.
• Coordinate financial closeout, ensuring final billing and records.
• Collaborate across departments to address financial questions and support project delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and financial controls.
