Job summary

HireIQ partners with a well-established engineering and environmental consulting firm to hire a Senior Project Accountant for its New York finance team.

This role offers ownership of projects from setup through closeout, with close collaboration with Project Managers across a large A/E business. A hybrid schedule and strong exposure to PMs and leadership support a stable, growing career path.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project accounting experience.
• Experience within engineering, architecture or another project-based environment.
• Strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition and project billing.
• Deltek, Vision, Vantagepoint or Unanet experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project setup and budgets.
• Revenue recognition and WIP management.
• Project billing and invoicing.
• Forecasting and project financial reporting.
• Monitoring profitability, overruns and unbilled balances.
• Accounts receivable and collections.
• Subconsultant costs and project closeout.

HireIQ is partnering with a well-established engineering and environmental consulting firm to hire a Senior Project Accountant for its New York finance team.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant who wants full ownership of projects from setup through closeout, while partnering closely with Project Managers across a large, established A/E business.

You will manage the financial lifecycle of a portfolio of projects, including:

• Project setup and budgets
• Revenue recognition and WIP management
• Project billing and invoicing
• Forecasting and project financial reporting

• Accounts receivable and collections
• Subconsultant costs and project closeout
• Working directly with Project Managers to resolve financial issues
