Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or related field.
• 2 years progressively responsible experience in Recreation Management or related field.
• Demonstrated experience working with and programming for older adults is preferred.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and schedules instructors, volunteers, and other part time staff.
• Responsible for recruitment, training, evaluations and disciplining of staff/instructors.
• Plans, organizes markets and promotes recreation classes, activities and events for older adults.
• Establishes contacts with community groups to increase participation.
• Maintains program records including finances, attendance, registrations and incidents.
• Collaborates with staff to develop coordinated customer service, safety policies and program development.
• Solicits patron input via surveys, meetings and personal contact.
• Submit reports as required and manage programs within approved budgets.
• Update city website content and act as website contact contributor.
• Performs other duties as required.
