Job summary

The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking qualified applicants for a Program Specialist IV to support agency program planning and development in Downtown Honolulu. This recruitment will establish a list of candidates to fill current vacancy positions and may be used for future openings.

Temporary full-time employment is available, with hiring rates based on funds and qualifications. Responsibilities include developing policies and standards, preparing comprehensive reports, and potentially supervising

Qualifications

Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
1.5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience with analytical responsibilities.
1 year of specialized experience in a relevant field per agency requirements.
Supervisory aptitude, not necessarily prior supervisory experience.
Substitutions allowed as described in the minimum qualification requirements.
Driver's license required for some positions.
Special requirement - lift and carry up to 50 lb unassisted, 100 lb assisted.

Responsibilities

Perform full range of program planning and development activities.
Develop policies or standards affecting the agency and its programs.
Prepare comprehensive reports of findings and conclusions.
Supervise lower-level program specialists and other workers where assigned.
Manage budget formulation, grants or contracts, staff development, and legislative development.
