Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) 1 to support NASA's Artemis missions at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA. You will develop, manage, and optimize project schedules in alignment with NASA's Schedule Management Handbook, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and visibility across the program lifecycle.

Preferred candidates hold a BS/BA with 15+ years in programmatic disciplines, advanced certification, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• BS/BA required.
• 15+ years of applicable professional experience.
• Expertise in one or more programmatic disciplines (strategic planning, project planning, requirements management, stakeholder management, independent assessments).
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex assignments with broad scope and impact.
• Experience developing executive-level reports and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in specialized programmatic disciplines (strategic planning, project planning, requirements management, independent assessments, stakeholder management).
• Provide expert guidance to program managers and leadership on complex issues.
• Lead or support development and improvement of processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Analyze complex programmatic challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute multiple complex assignments with minimal supervision.
• Develop methodologies and analytical approaches to support strategic initiatives and program execution.
• Conduct independent assessments and reviews to identify risks and opportunities.
• Provide expert analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government customers, industry partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
