Job summary

NASA is seeking a Subject Matter Expert 1 at the Michoud Assembly Facility to lead schedule development and optimization across programs aligned with the NASA Schedule Management Handbook. You will support Artemis missions by ensuring schedule accuracy, integrity, and visibility throughout the program lifecycle.

The role requires 15+ years of experience, one or more specialized disciplines, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver mission objectives.

Qualifications

• BS/BA required.
• 15+ years of applicable professional experience.
• Recognized expertise in one or more programmatic disciplines.
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex assignments.
• Experience developing methodologies and process improvements.
• Strong communication with technical, programmatic, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in one or more programmatic disciplines (e.g., strategic planning, project planning, requirements management, stakeholder management, independent assessments).
• Provide expert-level guidance to program managers, project teams, and leadership on complex issues.
• Lead or support development and continuous improvement of processes and best practices.
• Analyze complex challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments with autonomy.
• Develop frameworks and analytical approaches to support strategic initiatives.
• Conduct independent assessments, evaluations, and reviews to identify risks and opportunities.
• Communicate findings and recommendations through reports and executive briefings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to resolve issues and achieve objectives.
• Mentor teams and contribute to program deliverables and metrics.
• Stay current on trends and policies relevant to the role.
