Job summary

IREX is seeking a Senior Program Officer in Kyiv, Ukraine to lead UVRR activities strengthening veteran communities and regional coordination. You will engage with veteran organizations, local authorities, and civil society to enhance dialogue and policy implementation at multiple levels.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in social science or law, 5+ years of relevant experience, and fluency in English and Ukrainian. Partial remote work is allowed; travel across Ukraine is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in social science, law, or similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in dialogue building, social cohesion, and Ukrainian legislation.
  • Experience with international donor-funded projects.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Ukrainian.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, hromada development, or regional coordination is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of program activities aimed at strengthening veteran communities and participation at local and regional levels.
  • Supports the development and expansion of regional coordination mechanisms between veterans, veteran-serving organizations, and authorities.
  • Works with veteran communities and local, regional, and national veteran organizations to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Facilitates regular dialogue between veteran communities and authorities to inform policy and services.
  • Organizes regional meetings, workshops, and other dialogue formats involving veterans and government representatives.
