Job summary

The State of Nevada, Department of Transportation, is recruiting a Program Officer 3 in Carson City to manage leave programs (FMLA, Paid Family Leave, Catastrophic Leave, Workers’ Compensation) and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You will serve as a primary resource for employees and supervisors, guiding leave processes, documentation, and return-to-work workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or related discipline.
• High school diploma with four years of professional program experience including interpretation of laws and regulations.
• One year of experience as a Program Officer II in Nevada State service or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Recommend, interpret, implement and disseminate regulations, policies and procedures related to program operations.
• Research, develop, recommend and implement long term plans to enhance and maximize services.
• Provide information and guidance to agencies, management, staff, participants and the public to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Explain and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures; resolve high-level customer service issues.
• Oversee collection, maintenance and organization of program records and prepare reports for management.

Education
