Job summary

Capital One is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead large, cross-functional programs in the Experience Platforms group. You will design and drive comprehensive project plans, ensuring governance and on-time delivery while aligning stakeholders with strategic goals.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, influencing, and cross-functional leadership. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a Master’s preferred, and extensive PM experience expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience.
• At least 7 years of project management experience.
• Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• 10+ years of Project Management experience preferred.
• 3+ years of People Management experience preferred.
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Experience with software programs or projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex programs by providing strategic direction and tactical guidance to project teams, peers, and direct reports.
• Design, develop, and manage comprehensive project plans, adapting strategies to evolving business requirements.
• Ensure rigorous project documentation and governance to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and maintain on-time delivery.
• Leverage advanced problem-solving and influencing skills to align stakeholder goals with strategic intent.
• Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to provide thought leadership, streamline communication, and drive successful deliverables.
• Build collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries to secure buy-in and achieve shared commitments.
• Oversee end-to-end program management for critical initiatives within the Experience Platforms Top of House team.
• Own and drive stakeholder engagement, timeline risk and dependency management, communication flows, strategic insights for senior leadership, and core project operations.
