Job description

Description

Amazon's Sub Same Day (SSD) Operations Excellence (OpX) team is looking for a Senior Program Manager eager to join the team that is defining new benchmarks, innovating on new processes, and creating a strategy to scale the SSD network for the next three years of growth. This role is an exciting opportunity to tackle week-to-week operational hurdles, strategize and create roadmaps that will improve on time delivery performance, productivity and quality for upcoming key Customer high volume events, and engage in long term product pipelines to build for tomorrow's scale.

The Sr. PM that will be most successful in this role will have a proven track record of identifying operational problems, proposing solutions after scoping scrappy short term and robust long term tech approaches that leverage best practices from other networks (such as NACF), and implementing these solutions with a close lens on both quantitative results/trends and operational experience insights. From a knowledge perspective, it will help for the Sr. PM to have a solid understanding of fulfillment and delivery operations from process standard work, to on-time delivery, to productivity tactics and correlation of these tactics to the top KPIs.

This role is best suited for a Sr. PM that thrives in ambiguous environments to Invent and Simply, is able to effectively communicate with dozens of different large organizations to Earn Trust, can balance the need for Bias for Action and Diving Deep that the rapidly growing SSD business demands, and has a roll‑up‑their‑sleeves and take Ownership attitude!

Key job responsibilities
  • Be the single‑threaded owner responsible for defining the strategy for the program and the necessary initiatives to uphold that strategy
  • Self‑identify problem statements and areas of opportunity, and present these to leadership and business stakeholders
  • Partner with teams across the organization and Amazon to source, allocate, and coordinate resources by driving critical prioritization discussions
  • Manage and deliver results on complex programs and related projects across multiple organizations
  • Gather business requirements for technical and business intelligence integration, negotiate process improvements and required features, distinguishing between important and urgent, and program‑specialized vs program‑agnostic solutions
  • Create metrics and mechanisms to drive both operational and program improvements
  • Partner with Directors, VPs, and other key operational and technical leaders across the organization
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech teams
  • Experience defining and executing program requirements
