Job summary

Trout Unlimited's California Inland Trout Program seeks a senior project manager to lead habitat restoration and connectivity projects across the Sierra Nevada, focusing on public lands and near Truckee.

You will coordinate with the program director, science team, and partners, raise funds, manage contracts, and guide staff through multi-year projects. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of PM experience, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work across agencies and tribal partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or PhD in natural resources management, policy, or related field.
• Understanding of Western watershed and restoration; ability to articulate conservation issues and TU's mission.
• Experience developing new projects, building partnerships, and fundraising goals.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating multiple projects and contractors.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead restoration project management, including selecting subcontractors, contracts, permits, and documentation.
• Supervise program staff and coordinate with Director and science team.
• Raise program funding by developing grants and managing budgets and reports.
• Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and coordinate with tribes and public land users.
• Ensure project compliance and effective monitoring and reporting.
