Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City seeks a Senior Program Manager, Professional Opportunity Programs to collaborate with Corporate Engagement and deliver one-time skill-building workshops for high school students hosted by corporate partners.

The role includes managing Workplace Mentoring Program cohorts, supervising matches, and coordinating Career Days with schools to expand accessible opportunities for youth across NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide match support to a caseload of up to 4-5 Workplace Mentoring Program Cohorts to achieve mutually successful mentoring experiences.
  • Provide on-going phone, email, and in-person supervision and support to mentors, mentees, and parents/guardians
  • Monitor closely for safety, program compliance, goal achievement, and program satisfaction; immediately address and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Advocate for youth and families by providing referrals, crisis intervention, and other additional resources.
  • Effectively collect all required evaluation tools and monitor all progress of match success.
  • Conduct family/Littles/Bigs interviews (virtual or in-person) as required. This includes writing assessments and collecting supporting information from collaborating agencies, schools, etc. to determine disposition based on eligibility, needs, goals, and/or acceptance for agency services.
  • Conduct match meetings as required to support program needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • In collaboration with the Corporate Engagement team, locally and nationally, coordinate all aspects of Professional Opportunity Days as they are confirmed by corporate partners.
  • Advertise Professional Opportunity Days and Skills for Success workshops to school partners and secure a school for each scheduled.
  • Lead Program Manager outreach to school partners to gather information about Career Days scheduled throughout the school year.
  • Support school coordinators with meeting recruitment goals and gathering consent forms from all participants.
  • Prepare workshop agendas and materials, adjusting the curriculum as needed to meet the requests of corporate and school partners.
  • Manage program logistics, including student transportation and security measures.
  • Complete all post-event documentation and data entry.
  • With Associate Director, develop strategy for meeting departmental goals for youth served through Professional Opportunity Programs.
  • Lead development of new Professional Opportunity Program curriculum and marketing materials.

Job description

Job Summary:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City seeks a Senior Program Manager, Professional Opportunity Programs. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with the Corporate Engagement team, locally and nationally, to deliver a series of one-time skill-building workshops for high school students, hosted by BBBS of NYC’s corporate partners throughout the school year. They will also collaborate with high school partners to represent BBBS of NYC at Career Days and coordinate Skills for Success workshops. This individual will carry a caseload of Workplace Mentoring Program cohorts, facilitating bi-weekly after-school programs for matches and providing ongoing support and supervision of mentoring relationships between Bigs and Littles. The Senior Program Manager, Professional Opportunity Programs will play an integral role in delivering accessible programming and supervision to our matches by leveraging their youth development experience, understanding of child safety protocols, and ability to deliver culturally competent, relevant support to Bigs and Littles.

Job Responsibilities:
